Also called Math, Math son of Mathonwy.
Their story
Math was lord of Gwynedd and could only live if his feet rested in the lap of a maiden, except when he was at war. When his nephews Gwydion and Gilfaethwy tricked him away and Gilfaethwy raped his footholder Goewin, Math married her to give her honour and power, and punished his nephews severely. He was said to hear anything whispered anywhere once the wind had caught it. Later he and Gwydion made Blodeuwedd from flowers.
