Their story
Consus had an underground altar in the Circus Maximus, kept covered and opened only on his festivals in August and December, when there were horse and mule races. Working animals were garlanded and rested. Livy tells that Romulus invited the Sabines to the first Consualia, and during the games the Romans seized the Sabine women. His name is linked to storing, condere, or to counsel, consilium.
