Also called Maut, Mother, Lady of Isheru.
Their story
Mut rose with Amun to become his consort and the mother of Khonsu, forming the great Theban triad. Her temple at Karnak lay beside a crescent-shaped sacred lake, the Isheru. Amenhotep III filled it with hundreds of statues of the lioness Sekhmet, for Mut could take the form of the dangerous Eye of Ra. A Festival of Drunkenness was held there to soothe that fierce aspect and turn it to kindness.
