Also called the Coiled One.
Their story
Mehen was a great serpent who coiled around the sun god in his cabin on the night boat, protecting him from Apep. The Amduat and other underworld books show Mehen's coils forming a shelter as the sun passes through the dangerous middle hours of the night. The Coffin Texts include spells about his coils and the paths within them. An Old Kingdom board game, also called mehen, was laid out as a coiled snake.
